SUMMARY:CIC: Composition--Exhausting Choreographic Choices with Monica
 Bill Barnes
DESCRIPTION:Week #4: Speed & Size\nWe will push our physical limit
s to explore how we can create great variation in speed and size in ou
r movement.\n\nGeneral Class Description:\nThis six-class composition
sequence encourages indulgence and bold decision making through a seri
es of experiments with stillness, speed, gesture, repetition and music
. The choreographers will create a simple phrase that can be manipulat
e for the purpose of exploring how far we can push the limits of accep
table choreography. References to other art forms, including film, mus
ic and theater, will be used throughout to illustrate extreme artistic
choices. By taking away the expectation of making “good dance,” t
he choreographers will have the opportunity to explore wide dynamic ra
nge, question their assumptions, cultivate a sense of humor about thei
r process and take risks in a supportive, generous environment.\n\nFor
