About Me:

Floanne Ankah was born in France and resides in New York City where she works as an actor on stage, film and television. She graduated from the Merce Cunningham Dance Studio in 2004, and complements her training with private coaching in operatic voice with Patricia Scimeca and practices yoga with Amber Wilson. Floanne aspires to simplicity and believes that the audience plays a prominent part in the creation of art, as they actively observe what they are presented with: they create what they think, see and feel.

Brief artistic bio (required for Faculty, Guest Artists and Subs):

Floanne Ankah is a multidisciplinary artist and choreographer born in France. She graduated from the Merce Cunningham Dance Studio in 2004. Her choreographic work evolves around her technique, Body-Voice: Creative Instrument®, the experience of integrating movement and sound simultaneously.
Her choreography and collaborations have been presented at HERE arts center, Merce Cunningham Studio, DUMBO arts festival, Aabrons Arts Center, Movement Research (Mina Nishimura), Agora II (Noémie Lafrance), The Public Theatre (Young Jean Lee); she is the recipient of the Field performing residency and Silo residency with DancenowNYC.
Floanne Ankah is the founder of simple production, which original efforts and choreographies are the collaboration of “sparkling” artists from diverse cultures.
