I teach modern at DNA and am the artistic director of Isabel Gotzkowsky and Friends.
Brief artistic bio (required for Faculty, Guest Artists and Subs):
Isabel Gotzkowsky, originally from Germany, came to New York City and DNA (formerly Dance Space Center) in the summer of 1988 to pursue a career in dance. She has had the opportunity to study and perform with a variety mentors and choreographers, such as Laurie DeVito and Jennifer Muller. She joined the DNA Faculty in 1995 and formed Isabel Gotzkowsky and Friends (IGaF) in 1998. Since its inception the company has performed Isabel’s work in a variety of venues in New York, such as Joyce SoHo, The Kitchen, P.S. 122 and Dance Space Project as well as nationally in New Jersey, Massachusetts and California. Internationally, IGaF has been seen in Canada, Mexico, Europe and Africa. IGaF was awarded the prestigious company residency at The Yard in Chilmark, MA in 2001 and an artist residency at White Oak Plantation in Yulee, FL in 2004. Isabel has also served on the faculties at Montclair University, NJ, Dance Forum, New Dance Group and Ballet Arts, NYC, and she continues to be a artist in residence at Dance Loft In Rorschach, Switzerland.
