Deet Snöar!!! Deet Snöar!!!! Today is snowed again, and although I am typically one to stay in away from horrid weather, I spent the day shopping with Anna and walking through Gamla Stan (The Old City) :). (This was of course after I tried to make…

OMG - so tomorrow I leave, and of course I am not packed. (Are you surprised???) The older I get, the more I seem to put off packing until the last moment possible: For my last trip, I didn't pack my suitcase until about two hours before I went to t…

So Yesterday I went to purchase Krona, and who knew that although many banks carry the currency, some charge an arm and a leg to get it. (Banks like Bank of America do not charge you to buy the currency; they only charge you $18 to order it. Plea…

(Okay, so the heading/title of these entries is getting a bit ridiculous... but I suppose there is no point in messing with a classic.) For the past few nights, I have had problems sleeping. And despite the fact that I am tired, and berating myself…

Sweden Day 6: Last entry

Well, this officially is my last entry. And I thought that the best way to end this little whatever you want to call it would be by including a top ten list. When I was discussing this concept with Lisa, she asked me whether I wanted all the top ten items to be good things about Sweden or merely observations. And now that I think about it, I prefer to simply make this my top ten list of observations. After all, who am I to place judgement on anything (.. :)) .

Sweden Day 4 and 5

Well as you all know, yesterday was the audition. And though I do not have good news to report (i.e. I didn´t get the job) I did have a good time and enjoyed the process.

The day started off with an hour and a half ballet class. And though I haven’t really taken ballet in since I returned from Ballet Boot Camp in San Francisco (almost 8 months ago!!!), I really enjoyed the class and thought that over all it went pretty well. My only complaint was that there wasn´t enough space to properly do th… Continue

Sweden Day 3

Deet Snöar!!! Deet Snöar!!!!

Today it snowed again! And although I typically am one to stay away from horrid weather, I spent the day walking (and shopping) with Anna in Gamla Stan (The Old City) :). (This was of course after I tried to make it to Klein class, but failed miserably because I asked directions from a man who didn´t know where I needed to go, but nonetheless pointed in a direction and said go that way... :). I guess the old adage is true: Men rarely know where they´re going, but al… Continue

Sweden Day two!

Well it is snowing! (Deet Snöar!!!) And not just a bit, but a lot! This morning, as Lisa and I were running to get to her school (which is very nice by the way - the studios are large, sprung, and include heated floors!!!), the only thing I could do to keep myself from slidding down the numerous hills was think "sit bones to heals, sit bones to heals.*" (I must have said this aloud, as I do have a tendency to talk to myself, because Lisa just started laughing and said "ja" :)

Today, the plan is… Continue

Arrival - Sweden (day one)

Okay, well I arrived safe and sound! (This is in spite of the fact that I had to travel through Jersey, which I must admit is a lot better than I had expected! Actually I prefered Newark to both JFK as well as Laguardia!! So I guess Jersey has a new fan!)

Right now I am sitting in a internet cafe in the Central Station/Terminal in Stockholm, and honestly fighting with the Key board. For the past few hours since arrival, I have just been walking around trying to figure out the lay of the land. A… Continue
