This is a very large bedroom in a beautiful spacious 3 bedroom apartment. $225/week or $900/month gives convers rent, gas, electricity, and wireless internet (that's less than what I pay!) The apartment: Recently renovated with gorgeous hardwood floors. The building is home to a lot of 20-30 something artists who are super friendly. The building and room are surprisingly quiet being that it's on the ground floor. We get lots of light in the apt and it stays quite cool in the summer. The super is awesome and there are no bug/pest issues at all. The room has this awesome hallway and little steps leading to it and is set off from the rest of the apartment a little so you have lots of privacy. It also has two cool nooks on either wall. I use on for records and the other as a pseudo altar/beauty product spot. I will be taking all my stuff out of the apartment including my bed, so you'll have to provide that. You'll have plenty of space including a large closet. Oh and we have a CAT, Azriel.
The roomies: You'd be living with my old friend from LA, a mid-20s photographer/African studies major. She's very curteous and funny. She's a friendly Leo who loves to travel and is mostly vegetarian. The other is a new subletter. She's a music journalism intern/ Sociology major spending the summer in NY. She's also very nice and heading towards vegetarianism. We share chores and respect each others space. We also like to hang out together and keep the apartment feeling like a home.
The neighborhood: I love it! Fairly ethnically mixed, and filled with life. This is a tree-lined primarily residential block that also has a new hip women's clothing boutique, a small gallery, and adorable Mexican food restaurant. Within a block there are really good affordable, but chic restaurants including Thai, raw vegan, American, Indian, Pizza, Caribbean, etc. There is also a cute new coffee shop down the street and Shambhala Dance/Yoga studio 2 blocks away! There is a Key Foods with lots of natural/organic products about an 8minute walk away, as well as another grocery store 2 blocks away. There is a large, new laundromat in a connected building around the corner. Best of all for summer, you can walk to Prospect Park (grand army plaza enterance) in 15 minutes, where you will also find a Farmer's Market, The museum, library, and Botanic gardens. What more could you ask for?
Transportation: Walk around the corner to the Park Pl shuttle stop which takes you to the C at Franklin, or the 2,3,4,5 at Botanic Garden, or the B/Q at Prospect Park
OR walk 8-10minutes to the C at Franklin, or the 2,3,4,5 Franklin, or the 2,3 at Eastern Parkway, Brooklyn Museum
The deal: Our lease ends July 31st and though we love the apartment, we're all going different ways. I'll be travelling the month of July so I definitely need someone for that month. Thanks, Rainy (917)669-2270
