WHITE WAVE Young Soon Kim Dance Company Premiers of SSOOT III and excerpts from SSOOT I+II

The première of SSOOT III will mark a continuation of an outstanding artistic collaboration by singularly innovative artists: lusciously composed and live music by Marco Cappelli and the renowned composers Allen Won and In Hyun Kim for excerpts from SSOOT I+II.

In July of 2007, WHITE WAVE celebrated Ms. Kim's 30th Anniversary Season at Dance Theater Workshop with the world premiere of SSOOT. Lisa Jo Sagolla wrote in Backstage that "SSOOT is...an extremely well crafted, visually stunning, emotionally rich work... Young Soon Kim makes generic modern-dance vocabulary serve a wide range of expressive functions.” The rapturous reception to this ground-breaking work fired up her creative energies, inspiring Kim to begin work on SSOOT II (2008). Sarah Hart from ExploreDance.com raves “Aptly named ‘the jewel in the lotus,’ it did, indeed, prove an absolute gem...the quality of dance was superb...it was organic and natural - and yet urban...it was like watching someone else’s dream...”.

SSOOT III furthers Ms. Kim's exploration of the emotional landscape of utterly human stories.
